Window Tint &
PPF Aftercare Guide
Thank you for choosing us to protect and enhance your vehicle! This guide explains how to care for your Window Tint and PPF so they stay looking their best.
Window Tint AftercarE
Your tint continues to cure and settle for several weeks after installation.
Please take care during this period.
First Steps
Keep windows closed for at least 48 hours
Do not clean the inside of windows for 30 days
Drying Time & What to Expect
Tint takes 2–4 weeks to fully dry (longer in cool/damp weather)
Temporary effects you may notice:
Slight haze or cloudiness
Small water bubbles or streaks
These are normal and will disappear as the film cures
Cleaning & Maintenance
Wait 30 days before cleaning your tint
Use a soft microfibre cloth
Cleaning solution: plain water or mild dish soap in water
Dry with a microfibre towel
SAFE: products labelled safe for window tint
AVOID:
Ammonia-based cleaners (e.g., Windex)
Abrasive pads, bristle brushes, or paper towels
Using the same cloths on inside and outside glass (outside grit can scratch film)
Don’t pick at the film edges
Don’t use suction cups on tinted glass
If you travel with pets: wipe away dog saliva promptly, as it can etch into the hard coat
Paint Protection Film (PPF) Aftercare
We install BushWrapz® and Solar Gard Clearshield® Pro ACTIV PPF, premium self-healing films designed for long-term protection. Proper care ensures your film stays glossy, self-heals effectively, and lasts for years.
First 7 Days
Avoid washing your car for 7 days after installation
Small bubbles, haze, or moisture pockets may appear — this is normal and will disappear as the film cures
Cleaning & Washing
Wash with a microfibre mitt and pH-neutral car shampoo
Rinse thoroughly and dry with a microfibre towel
Avoid: abrasives, harsh chemicals, drive-through car washes, and pressure washers held too close (<1m) to the film edges
Recommended: hand washes, detailer sprays, and gentle waxing with PPF-safe products
Remove bugs, bird droppings, or tree sap within 72 hours to prevent staining
Polishing & Detailing
Polish and wax like normal paint, but do not use polishes with cutting compounds or machine buffers — these can damage the self-healing topcoat
Use PH-neutral detailer sprays regularly to keep the film hydrated, glossy, and stain-resistant
Tell your car detailer there is PPF on your vehicle so they use safe products and techniques
Ongoing Care
Self-healing top coat activates with heat (sunlight or warm water) to remove light swirls and scratches
Optional: use PPF-safe spray sealants or ceramic coatings
Waxing is safe if it does not contain petrol, silicon, or acid-based ingredients
Schedule a thorough detail once a year to remove contaminants and industrial fallout
Tip: If you maintain your PPF the same way you maintain your paintwork, you’ll enjoy years of protection without issues.
